Project Overview
We are looking for dedicated volunteers to support our digital education programs, community outreach, and administrative tasks. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while gaining valuable experience in social impact, education, and tech-driven initiatives.
Volunteers will assist in mentorship, event coordination, awareness campaigns, and various activities that align with our mission. Whether you have experience in technology, community development, or education, your contribution will help shape the future of digital learning in Cross River State.
Key Responsibilities
1. Digital Skills Training and Support
•Assist in organising and delivering basic digital literacy training for children and youth.
•Support participants in learning essential tech skills, including coding, data literacy, and online safety.
•Guide learners in accessing and utilising digital learning resources effectively.
2. Community Outreach and Awareness
•Organise and participate in awareness campaigns promoting the importance of digital education.
•Engage with parents, guardians, and community leaders to encourage digital inclusion.
•Advocate for equal access to digital resources for children and young people in underserved communities.
3. Administrative Support
•Help maintain participant records, attendance tracking, and program documentation.
•Assist with logistics for training sessions, community events, and outreach activities.
•Support the distribution of educational materials, such as digital devices and learning kits.
4. Event Coordination
•Assist in the planning and execution of digital literacy workshops, training sessions, and tech-focused community events.
•Collaborate with other volunteers and team members to ensure the smooth execution of activities.
5. Mentorship and Career Guidance
•Act as a mentor, providing career guidance and encouragement to participants interested in tech-related fields.
•Share insights on personal and professional development to inspire young learners.
6. Monitoring and Evaluation
•Support data collection and feedback gathering using the Kobo Collect tool to assess program impact.
•Report challenges, successes, and recommendations to the project coordinator for continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Skills
•Passion for education, digital literacy, and community development.
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
•Patience, empathy, and the ability to engage with children and young people.
•Basic knowledge of digital tools and technology (or willingness to learn).
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•Previous experience in volunteering, community outreach, or tech education is beneficial but not required.
